Old Almshouse-The Barn

As we drive away, the barn appears in the distance. This was where farm animals, field equipment, and tools of toil were kept for the "poorhouse inmates" work programs. It was expected of all able body persons residing at the almshouse to work long days in all weather conditions in return for their keep.
This brings us to the conclusion of our tour for now. Anyone viewing this gallery and reading the lines written will hopefully find gratitude in their hearts for the lives we are given in today's society in the USA. I would ask of anyone visiting this area to please stop for a moment the next time you encounter someone less fortunate than yourself to lend a helping hand with a smile on your face, for only by giving and sharing can we, as humankind bring this world together.
